At Fox & Ziepfel, LLC, we are more than just a law firm. We are parents, alumni, citizens, and advocates. Our passion for justice extends beyond the courtroom, shaping the communities where we live and work. We chose this profession to make a lasting difference—not just in the lives of our clients, but across our region and country.
We believe that legal expertise should serve a greater purpose. That’s why our attorneys are deeply involved in nonprofit boards, community improvement corporations, and port authorities—actively working to strengthen the fabric of our local communities. Whether advocating for businesses, fighting for constitutional rights, or leading grassroots initiatives, our mission remains the same: to leave every space better than we found it.

Fox & Ziepfel, LLC proudly operates from the historic residence of Captain Philip Rothenbush, a distinguished Civil War veteran and esteemed Hamilton merchant.
Like many brave Ohioans, Capt. Rothenbush answered President Abraham Lincoln’s call for 75,000 volunteers to defend the Union. Serving with the 35th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, he fought in numerous military campaigns throughout the South, including battles in:
The Residence of Capt. Philip Rothenbush
During the Battle of Chickamauga, one of the Civil War’s most significant engagements, Capt. Rothenbush sustained three separate wounds. In honor of his sacrificial service, a historic residence was built for his family, commemorating his bravery and dedication.
After returning to Southwest Ohio, Capt. Rothenbush became a respected businessman, opening his first store in 1868 at the corner of Front and High Streets. His leadership and reputation were so well-regarded that The Republican-News once wrote:
There is no man in Hamilton better known or more respected than Captain Philip Rothenbush.
Republican-News (Hamilton, Ohio), 1909
Today, Fox & Ziepfel, LLC is honored to serve clients from this historic space, a structure built in tribute to an inspirational Ohioan and American. More than just an office, it stands as a living testament to Capt. Rothenbush’s enduring legacy of service, leadership, and commitment to the community and our country.
Fox & Ziepfel attorneys serve on nonprofit boards of directors, community improvement corporations, port authorities, and lead nonprofit organizations that shape the fabric of communities we live inand serve. We believe that our experience and knowledge should extend well beyond the courtroom to help build strong networks and communities.
By getting our hands dirty on a grassroots level, our attorneys work tirelessly to make a positive difference that outlives the length of our legal careers. We want to leave every area of the world around us far better than we found it, whether that be our clients’ future or our community’s future.
